As a further support for Turkish sports, Petrol Ofisi reached a sponsorship agreement with the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled (TBESF), which operates in 20 physically disabled sports branches from wheelchair basketball to athletics, weightlifting to paratriathlon.
Acting with the vision of Ready for Tomorrow as of Today and with the mission of being innovative and pioneering in every project that supports Turkey's development, Petrol Ofisi is embarking on a new journey with our national athletes who know no barriers. Having sponsored the Turkish Amputee National Team that became the World Champion for the first time in its history this year, Petrol Ofisi Group is expanding its support for disabled athletes with a new sponsorship agreement signed with the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled. As part of the agreement, Petrol Ofisi will sponsor the Turkish Amputee Football National Team as well as the athletes of 20 branches affiliated with TBESF. The details of the cooperation were shared at a press conference held on December 6 with the participation of Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu and Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled President Atty. Muaz Ergezen.
Delivering a speech at the meeting, Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu said, "Making life easier for people with disabilities and supporting their development in every field is a fundamental requirement of an egalitarian and inclusive society. Petrol Ofisi Group aims to contribute to the development of our disabled citizens in social life and in their sporting careers with our vision of “Ready for Tomorrow, Today". In this context, we had signed a sponsorship agreement with our Amputee National Football Team before the World Cup. In turn, they gave us the pride of being world champions in October in Istanbul. In recent years, our national athletes from different branches have also achieved remarkable and valuable successes in Paralympic Games, World and European championships. In order to ensure the sustainability of this success, we continue our partnership with the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled (TBESF) by including the 20 branches of the federation. I would like to thank the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled for supporting the values of our country and bringing them together with us, and I would like to express that we are proud to be a part of this family."
The President of Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled, Atty. Muaz Ergezen expressed his views as follows: "With the establishment of the Turkish Sports Federation for the Physically Disabled, a new page was opened in the access of our physically disabled individuals to sports. At the point we have reached today, we have transformed from an institution that only serves disabled individuals, attracts or tries to attract their attention, into a large community and a successful sports organization that is known by all sports fans, includes 20 branches within its body, and captures the attention of the sports public with its world achievements. The biggest architect of this transformation is our athletes, who work hard, have high potential, and surprise us every time and take the bar one step further. Each one of them has stories full of determination, sacrifice and success. When I talk about our family, I use the words courage, passion, labor, nobility, dedication and hope. All of our athletes today enable millions of young people to dream of something bigger. This is why TBESF - Petrol Ofisi Group cooperation is so important.
